Job Hunting

How depressing is job hunting? Even though I have nearly two years retail experience nowhere seems to want me. This wouldn't bother me as much if my friend (who has no retail experience whatsoever) managed to walk into a shop asking for a job yesterday and is starting on Monday. Some people have all the luck
I'm hoping that because I haven't been rejected from my most recent Boots application yet that I could be in with a chance. I'd absolutely love to work at Boots, seeing as I spend most of my money in there. I wonder if you get discount too.
I should be fine for the time being, my ebaying seems to be going rather well. I've made £100 already and none of my listings have ended yet so I'm hoping for at least double that (might be pushing it a bit but oh well). I'm just a bit annoyed that I might not even get a job at all, most places won't be looking after Christmas because they'll keep their temps on, so what am I supposed to do for money for university? Especially seeing as I'm now eyeing up the most expensive accommodation EVER. It sucks being young and jobless.
Although I suppose that once I leave sixth form in May I might actually be able to get Jobseeker's allowance...if it's still going then.
